Storobin Gets Early Conservative Nod For Council Race

The Kings County Conservative Party announced its support of former State Senator David Storobin for City Council in the 48th district.

“Anyone who had an opportunity to come to know State Senator Storobin knows that David has public service in his blood. He will make an excellent Councilman who will effectively handle the many large and small issues a Councilman confronts every day. The Conservative Party is pleased to once again endorse him for election," said County Chairman Kassar in a statement released.

Storobin, who lost the conservative party line last year in his failed bid for the Super Jewish Senate district, welcomed the endorsement. “I am honored to have the support and encouragement of the Conservative Party, which has long fought for the legislation that I sponsored in the State Senate: lower taxes, less unnecessary bureaucracy, traditional values, job creation and stronger education,” he said.

In a email response to Politicker, David Storobin noted that there’s “no announcement is on the horizon.”

The Republican county in Brooklyn is also expected to back unanimously Storobin's council bid, does he decide to run and challenge the Democratic nominee.
