The Kings County Conservative Party announced its support of former State Senator David Storobin for City Council in the 48th district.
“Anyone who had an opportunity to come to know State Senator Storobin knows that David has public service in his blood. He will make an excellent Councilman who will effectively handle the many large and small issues a Councilman confronts every day. The Conservative Party is pleased to once again endorse him for election," said County Chairman Kassar in a statement released.
The head of Flatbush's Shomrim security patrol and Community Liaison for Councilman Mike Nelson, Chaim Deutsch seems like he’s finally ready to get his campaign off the ground, with his chances growing amid a crowded field of candidates. “Until now if someone asked if I am running the answer would be that I’m not sure — now the answer is that I am running,” Mr. Deutsch told Yochonon Donn in Hamodia at the beginning of the week.
In what seems to eventually become a heated race in Brooklyn, Igor Oberman, an attorney and president of the board of directors in a large housing complex in the district has already raised more than $85,000 in 3 weeks, according to reports by his campaign and first reported by Colin Campbell.
Oberman, who is seeking to hold the seat pf Mike Nelson as a Russian representative has amassed the sum through over 200 donors, 70 percent of whom came from within the district. “This is a game-changer,” spokesman Jonathan Yedin told Politicker. “Igor’s massive fundraising haul proves his message is resonating and voters are getting behind his campaign in a big way.”
The Campaign for councilman Mike Nelson's seat in the newly drawn 48th council district, officially kicked off early March, with 45th Assembly District Leader Ari Kagan becoming the first candidate to officially throw his hat in the ring.
